Visiting Lavender fields became our yearly tradition. We visited Somerset Lavender fields quite a few times, so this year we decided to try something new and headed to The Cotswold, which is known around the world as a classic view of the English countryside.
Apsilankymai levandų laukuose jau tapo mūsų šeimos kasmetine tradicija. Keletą metų iš eilės lankėmes Somerset Levandų laukuose, todėl šį kartą nusprendėme atrasti naujas vietas ir patraukėme į Costwold kraštą, kuris pasaulyje garsėja klasikiniais angliško kaimo kraštovaizdžiais.
Cotswold Lavender farm is a third-generation family farm set in the heart of beautiful Costwolds Hills. The farm is very big and not only lavenders thrive there but also chamomile, wildflowers etc. There is a barn with a shop and tea-room, where you can try lavender ice-cream or cake and enjoy a cup of lavender tea.
Tarp Costwold kalnų esanti Cotswold Levandų Ferma priklauso jau trečiai šeimos kartai. Ferma yra tikrai didelė, joje auginamos ne tik levados, bet ir ramunėlės, laukinės gėlės ir t.t. Čia veikia parduotuvėle bei kavinukė, kurioje galite paragauti ledų ir pyragėliu su levandomis, pasimėgauti levandų skonio arbata.
Before visiting the farm you can check Flowering updates on how the lavender is looking and when will be harvesting. At the peak of the summer sunshine, the lavender is harvested and distilled by traditional methods and visitors can go into the distillery to watch the process. However, I do love even a simple, peaceful walk in a lavender field – appreciating the beauty of nature and enjoying the amazing scent.
Prieš apsilankant fermoje, galite jų puslapyje patikrinti, kaip šiuo metu atrodo levandos, kadangi nuolat keliamos nuotraukos ir pateikiama derliaus nuėmimo informacija. Pačiame žydėjimo įkarštyje, levandų derlius būna nuimamas ir distiliuojamas tradiciniu būdu – visas procesas atviras ir atvykę tuo metu į fermą galite stebėti jo eiga. Bet kokiu atveju, vien pasivaikščioti violetinėje jūroje yra labai smagu – pasimėgauti gamtos grožiu ir nuostabiu aromatu.
