Drinking coffee in the morning is a comforting ritual, but I was looking how to make this ritual healthier. I wanted to find an alternative for a coffee. And it finally happened when I came across a Focus Matcha tea from Kissa.

Matcha is finely ground powder of green tea leaves that makes a perfect Matcha Latte! It has a bright green colour and tastes gentle and sweet. Because of the natural sweetness of it, I do not have to add any sugar in it, which is healthier too as I always have my coffee with a bit of sugar. Kissa offers quite a few different types of Matcha, but I decided to go for Matcha Focus, which is best alternative for a coffee as it contains caffeine and L-theanine. The amino acid L-theanine makes you feel relaxed and is responsible for the mild taste of the stimulating caffeine contained in tea. The effects: calm energy and concentration that last way longer than those induced by coffee. Matcha is also rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals and that is why Matcha can doubtlessly be called the superfood of tea.
Matcha yra iki miltelių susmulkinti žaliosios arbatos lapeliai, o iš šių miltelių galima pasigaminti tobulą Matcha Latte! Ji yra šviesios žalios spalvos, švelnaus ir saldaus skonio. Dėl natūralaus saldumo aš į Latte nededu cukraus, kuomet tikros kavos negaliu gerti be šaukštelio cukraus. Kissa siūlo daug skirtingų rūšių Matcha, tačiau aš išsirinkau Matcha Focus, kuri geriausias pakaitalas kavai, kadangi turi kofeino ir L-theanine. L-theanine yra natūrali baltyminė rūgštis, kuri saugo smegenis nuo dirgiklių ir pasižymi atpalaiduojančiu, raminančiu poveikiu, tačiau neslopina. Efektas – rami energija ir koncentracija, išliekanti daug ilgiau nei po kavos puodelio. Bet to, Matcha turtinga antioksidantais, vitaminais ir mineralais, dėl to netgi vadinama superfood.
How to Make Matcha Latte?
Scoop 4 bamboo spoons or 1 teaspoon of Matcha into a bowl add some hot water (It is important to let the water cool down to 80 °C as your Matcha doesn’t like it too hot) and whisk with a bamboo whisk until frothy. Heat some milk (I use oat milk) and make a frothed milk, then add Matcha tea into it.
That’s it, now you can get your day off to a healthy start!
4 bambuko šaukštelius arba vieną arbatinį šaukštelį Matcha arbatos įdėkite į indelį ir užpilkite karštu vandeniu (svarbu, kad vanduo būtų ne verdantis, geriausia atvėsintas iki 80 °C, kad nesunaikintų gerųjų Matcha savybių) ir gerai išsukite su bambukine šluotele. Pašildykite pieno (aš naudoju avižų pieną) ir plakite iki kol pasidengs puta. Tuomet supilkite Matcha į pieno su puta puodelį ir viskas, galite mėgautis sveiku rytiniu startu!
Now I really want to try Matcha for cooking! I saw a lot of recipes on Kissa website for Matcha ice cream, salad dressing etc. Now when I know a taste of Matcha I am sure that food with Matcha must be delicious!
